I bought these cleat covers to carry in my kit just in case I had a breakdown out in the boonies and needed to walk out my bike. I didn't want to try and walk on the SPD-SL (SM-SH11) cleats. These covers snap over the cleats and provide better traction. You won't be running with these but at least you can tip toe your way back to civilization.
