Wish there were more compelling throwbacks like this!

This gem had slipped under my radar and ended up being one of my favorite games in years. I find myself being drawn more to retro-style games nowadays, and less into the really long and huge 3d worlds of most modern games. Part of the reason is the lack of time, and the fact that many games take forever to beat (if they ever even have a real story) and feel too similar. I have been gaming since the 80's and this certainly reminds me of my childhood. It has the graphic style, challenging difficulty and bosses, and even the 8-bit style music! There is a lot of gameplay and value in this package, with different modes to play after you beat it, such as a full story mode with another character, and challenge maps. This game is like the love child of some of the all time classics, such as: Zelda II, Mega Man, Castlevania & Duck Tales. If that sounds appealing, this is definitely for you!Read full review
