Shrek

Be noted this film is not like the book it's based on. Some of the characters are expanded while others are created. The animation is visual and looks realistic. Shrek is not flawless and neither is Donkey. At one point, the Broken Aesop cliche is subverted when Shrek & Donkey are scolded for making wise-cracks about Lord Farquaad. Plus, the twist is foreshadowed and not tacked on for the shocks. And the characters don't all crack into constant musical numbers. (The ones who come close to get knocked out kung-fu style.) May this become listed as part of multiple list of films one must see before they die.Read full review
