Just Didn't Know.
I ordered this boresighter to help with putting a better optic on a Stoeger air rifle I ordered. Even though it comes with a fixed 4X illuminated reticle, all the reviews I read prior to ordering stated a better optic was needed for optimum usage. When I ordered the air rifle, I also ordered a 4X to 20X scope also with illuminated reticle. I have a laser boresighter, but it will only work on 22 cal. to 50 cal. The air rifle is 177 cal. When the air rifle and scope arrived, I had to wait a couple of days for this new boresighter to be delivered. When it did, I had already installed the new scope and was ready. What I didn't know was that the integral sound suppressor on the end of the barrel is aluminum. Got quite a laugh out of that as this boresighter works a a magnetic principal. It will still work on all of my MSR builds.Read full review

Good enough but not great
Does not square in for a perfect match on the various size barrels, so it moves a little around the center line of the barrel so you get different POI as the laser changes in position depending on where it sits. Good enough for "government work" to get you on paper but requires more time adjusting for zero at the range than for example a Laserlite.Read full review

Sightmark Triple Duty
Overall this is a nice boresighter. For comparison, at work I use the wheeler. The wheeler is metal with a brighter laser and a much more powerful magnet. It is also twice the price and has no way to center other than "close enough". This is not a big thing if you realize that you are just getting on paper.
The Sightmark centers, is easy to use, and is still visible in the daylight. For home use it definitely fits the bill. It is plastic and is not "heavy duty", but so long as it is treated well it shoul last fine.
So far I have done .22s to .45s. Long guns and hand guns. Open sights and scopes. No issues except it fell off once when I bumped the handgun (won't happen with the wheeler) and the laser sometimes goes dim.
All in all, for home and for the money it woks well. If mine quits I will suck it up and buy the wheeler.Read full review

Sightmark bore sighter
Much better than my other laser that uses inserts. Lines quick and easy. Only thing it could use a little stronger magnet. Other than that, it had me on paper first shot.

Acceptable precision and good value
The laser has an auger that fits into the muzzle. The fit is not exact and allows for slight variation of the beam when rotating the laser. But it is better and more accurate than the cheap boresights that are shaped like shell cases and fit into the chamber. Just be aware that as distance increases the precision of this laser will decrease. It accomplishes the objective of saving many rounds downrange to get the weapon sighted in. It works on rifle or pistol. You could spend much more to attain better precision, but this laser accomplishes my goal and is a value for the money.Read full review

Well built, strong laser
Quality product. Only criticisms is that the spring loaded cone doesn't really "connect" in rifled barrels, so you have to make sure the magnet is really flush against the end of the barrel.
Also the green laser seems to "overheat" in hot weather and in the sun. Turning it off, putting the device in your pocket for a few minutes, then turning it back on solves the issue.
But it is great value for the money.Read full review

Good product. Easy to use
Good product. Easy to use, doesn't require a bunch of different arbors. Laser very visible. Have used it on several of my guns and found it to be quite helpful. The only change I would make would be a stronger magnet. All in all still a good purchase.Read full review

On target
I am putting lasers on my equipment. This tool helped to get everything lined up. You may need to make small adjustments at the range but it saved a lot of time and ammo. As advertised this device will attach to every thing but a 12 Gauge. I put the weapons in a gun vice and leveled them. I attached this device and checked it for level as well using scope mounting magnets. I was able to align the dots and was on paper with the first shot of each weapon. I used it on everything from .22 ,.223, .380,9mm,.38,and.357. Some of the lasers were aligned with the bore, others were side mounted. I got the same good results.
The batteries lasted through a long bench session as I figured everything out. The Sightmark Bore Sighter appears to be durable and well made. I treated it like a precision instrument so I do not know how it would stand up to rough treatment. This is a great idea that was well done by Sightmark.Read full review

Great product at a great price
This is a great product. You don’t have to buy several different Laser bore sight instruments because this will do it all in one. It fits in the end of almost all barrels and allows you to align your scope crosshairs to the green dot in order to get you in the general area of where your bullet is going to hit. This was also an excellent price for this product.Read full review
