Silent Hill

I saw the art work for this movie in the window of Blockbusters and was intrigued, then forgot about it. Then I rented it cheaply from my local shop. To get the most from my DVD's I like to use headphones and have the room lighting just right. Helps with the atmosphere. I was blown away by this film. The strange setting, the WIERD characters and the eerie soundtrack had me glued. So much so that I bought my own copy from ebay as soon as I could. I have seen a few games made into films and generally have been very disappointed. I am not a gamer so knew nothing of the plot. In short a big spooky and bizarre film with some twists along the way and a surprise ending. Excellent stuff!Read full review...

Silent Hill

Films based on computer games tend not to be the best... and Silent Hill is no better. The films does an excellent job of recreating the Silent Hill town and the effects are well done but it just lacks the feeings of suspense, tension and fear that the games did so well.Read full review...

Silent Hill (DVD)

What i like about Silent Hill is the fact that Sean Bean is in it! He is the reason i brought the DVD. The film it's self is ok, it is a bit confusing as to the story line i think they concentrated on the trying to get it like the PS2 game rather thinking about making sense with a plot. Silent but Deadly

When I first saw this movie I was totally overwhelmed by it's visual effects and clever subplot. I was one of those who had never heard of the original action computer game Silent Hill and was strangely disapointed when I was told of it's basis as if it cheapened it somehow. I suppose that's my point taken on it's own merit this is an exceptional tale which I think is better enjoyed from the naive viewpoint of not knowing anything about this film. Radha Mitchell (Rose) is brilliant and carries the film perfectly with a totally believeable performance that is only spoilt slightly by Sean Bean's subdued acting who I feel is more of a physical actor who struggles with the subtle nuances of the part. I am a fan of the silent hill game series so I applaud the look and feel of the film. However the plot and certian elements of the film vision of silent hill may annoy long standing fans of the game. Wicked movie

I watched this in the cinema, and it totally freaked me and my other half out, it has everything you want in a horror movie, it isn't blood and guts, it more of a suspense things and happenings of the unknown!! (well apart from someones skin being pulled off!)

I totally recommened it, but don't watch it alone.

I honestly didn't sleep for days after watching this, those little burnt children still freak me out big time to this day!!!!! OMG when they first came on to the screen I started to shrink down into my chair I had never been so scared by a movie!!Read full review...
