Not temperature controlled, Just power controlled.
I have been using soldering irons for as long as I can remember, at least 50 years, I should have known that you could not buy a decent temperature controlled iron for under £50.
The soldering iron is fine for someone who just wants to do a few simple jobs at home.
If you are going to do some serious soldering with delicate components this is NOT the iron for you.
This is NOT a temperature controlled iron, it only controls the power of the iron not the temperature so if left for a while the temperature will rise very high indeed, more than enough to destroy delicate components.
So as I said ok for simple jobs where temperature is not important.
I have said it is good value as it is for the diy'er, the quality is reasonable.
But I would not recommend it.Read full review

Worst soldering iron ive ever used
Dreadful, waste of money, and a waste of resources, money and environmental. I switched it on, it smoked for 30mins with a acrid smell, this soon vanished, but even on full power it was strugglnig to melt the solder, and struggled to even stick to the solder. ive bought much better soldering irons for £5 . do not buy, this is very strong advice. ive been working with electrics for more than 35yrs and this reaches depths previously unseen.

Soldering station
This is a budget soldering station, but don’t be put off by this as it punches university it’s wright for sure! Easily comparable with a unit many times the price. I use one of these at home for my hobby and I also use one professionally, neither have missed a beat.

Can't beat it for the price 👌 it does the job... but, the only thing that I don't like is the soldering tips need constant replacing as they wear out very quickly. ie: buy a pack of 5/10 (roughly at £1 each) if you are doing a lot of soldering for the best quality work.
