Flimsy but good for a few uses

Very thin sheet metal, bends easily and you have to mould it a bit. After first use it's burnt white, and took much longer to heat my tagine with this tool between it and the heat. That said, my tagine is intact which is why I bought such a product. I predict it will last a few uses before I need to replace or invest in something more substantial. Well made, does its job.

Well made simmer plate. Nice leather loop for hanging. Sturdy and takes heat away from a boiling pan so the pan simmers nicely.

Good but could do with a better handle.

It is a good simmer ring with one small flaw - the handle tends to overheat and become charred. Apart from that it allows cooking on the hob to be even and controlled. It doesn't really need a handle.

It's junk.

Doesn't really reduce the heat for a simmer. It gets hot then makes the pot on top of it hotter. Basically doesn't work. And the handle fell off first thing. It's junk.

Heat Defuser Mat

I had been looking for one of these for ages in the shops but only found them really expensive. Then I bought a new Gas hob and its not as controlable as I would like. Lo and Behold they poped up on Ebay! So much so Im going to buy some for my friends and another 1 for myself. No more burnt food at the bottom of ther pots! Its very lightweight and dishwasher safe too! You can put bigger pots on it and on a small gas ring, for long simmers. Great Gaget to have! (Have no idea why they call it a Simmer Ring Pan Mat. Good while it lasts

I have had several of these before and they work well for a few months and then they start dropping pieces of black deposits over the hob and have to be replaced. They are cost effective since more long lasting products seem to cost several times the price.Read full review...

Not fit for purpose.

I bought this as I thought it it was listed as an induction hob converter, but when I used it the only thing that happened was that it glowed red hot, and almost shorted out my hob! Thankfully it was cheap, so it has now been thrown in the bin! Do not buy this!Read full review...
