The Sims 2: Glamour Life Stuff

This is a stuff pack, you must own the original Sims 2 game to play.

As a stuff pack, Glamour Life adds objects, clothing, and decorating objects to the game.
The new collection of furniture is meant to appeal to high end, rich and glamorous sims. There is matching bedroom, dining, and living room sets. While new furniture is always welcome, the style is rather retro and old fashioned. It has a 1960's vibe that won't appeal to many peoples' taste. The new art, lighting, walls, floors, and knick-knack objects are similarly old fashioned.

The new clothing options are a bit better. Most of the new clothes are categorized as formal wear, with a few glamorous everyday options. There are many options of new tuxedos and gowns for your adult sims. The sims of other ages are rather neglected, and get little or no new clothes with this pack.

Overall, Glamour Life earns an average rating. The stuff is mediocre, old fashioned, and the pack contains a disapointingly low amount of additions to make it worth the full purchase price. Most items available for free download from fan sites are of far better quality and style.

The Sims 2: Glamour Life Stuff

Indulge in a glamorous life with this collection of luxurious furniture, fashionable clothing, and dazzling décor items. Redesign your Sims' home with modern bedroom living room, and dining room sets, or turn head with elegant gowns, suave formalwear, and cool casual styles. Live the good life! The idea behind the stuff packs is great but Maxis is going to have to work on the particulars for the packs to be a success. The artwork is lovely, the furniture very sleek and the outfits are great. However $19.99 is too much for my budget when this stuff pack only includes 60 items. Same as Family Fun I'm waiting until Glamour drops to $10-12.

Although the clothes for the adults are really nice I think it would have been good to add dressy clothes for elders and children too. The artwork is beautiful but it would have been a plus to have more from different eras. Same as the furniture. Glamour is more than just Art Deco. If they had included more styles in furniture and artwork I would have bought this immediately.

If Maxis really wants to compete with the custom content on fan sites they're going to have to increase the amount of stuff included in a pack or lower the price. There are many fan sites that have beautiful high quality custom content for free. Maxis is going to have to set the bar a little higher to grab my attention at the price they're asking.

TS2 GLS is the best "Stuff Pack" so far!

Many people have opinions on the new stuff packs that come out for The Sims2.

First, we had the Holiday Pack and it added some holiday flair to the game. However, the holiday pack really is for that time of year and not many seem to use these items year-round. This stuff pack did not need to be registered.

Family Fun Stuff pack came out and added nautical themes, princess and shiny knights with dragon decor to the game. Great pack for Sim families, but I have not used much of this pack since I play mostly with adult Sims and build for the exchange.

Glamour Life Stuff, I think, is the best of all three of the packs. There are 60 new items which include: furniture, a new stereo, floor files and wall patterns, a decent amount of new outfits, only one new hair do, lots of wall art and also table decor. This pack adds the ability to decorate your Sim's home with new items and even new bedroom sets. Many of the objects are available in different color combinations too. The new building tools include two new windows, a new door and new archway, which also can all be changed in color combinations. Lots of shiny and metallic accents in this pack.

At first I thought the GLS pack was a bit retro for me and the decor still reminds me of the 70s, but the stuff is still pretty neat. I have used almost every new object from this pack to add home and business lots to The Sims 2 exchange board and really do enjoy it.

Some argue the price for 60 new objects and no new interactions is too much to pay. I agree it's hard for kids to get these packs when they are limited on money, but I am a Sims addict when I begin playing. It can be hard to justify spending $15 or $20 for a stuff pack when you might not even use the items.

I would recommend anyone buying either the Family Fun Stuff or Glamour Life Stuff pack from eBay, to make sure it is new. These stuff packs need to be registered and if you buy it used, you will not be able to register that addition to your game. Both stuff packs require you use that CD to play your game after installing it. Some don't mind not having the icon on their Sims Pages, but many Simmers want the status of showing the world they have it all. If you don't upload items to TS2 site or don't care about registering the pack, then by all means, get a used CD and play. Just remember, you need to register the pack to get credit for owning it. If someone already used the registration code, EAGames will not honor it for you or support you if you have any problems.

If you enjoy decorating for your Sims, like style and artwork, this stuff pack is for you.

I do think it's an excellent addition to TS2. Enjoy!! booey4864 - TS2

Glamour Life Stuff Expansion

I bought this game because I like to keep up to date on all of the expansion packs for The Sims 2. Each new expansion brings new objects and fun to the game. This is not my favorite expansion, however. It looked really interesting when I looked at it at the store, but I have found that there aren't as many new items/objects that I thought and hoped for. I still think it is a good expansion, but in my opinion, it's not the best.Read full review...

A Glamour Life Indeed

I bought this product to enhance my Sims 2 game and well, the disc was read right away. That is a good sign that this game is going to work. It also shows me that these "stuff packs" as they are called changes the game quite a bit, and that's what I enjoy the most to see how heads are turn by making life a glamour life.Read full review...

Sims doesn't fail to dissappoint

This is worth it if you are a Sims Fanatic, if you are a casual player don't bother. I bought it because it was the only one for the sims 2 I didn't have. It is pretty much the same as the other "stuff" packs...where you just get a small amount of different things, I was hoping that Glamour Life would have some new hair and make-up features, but no such luck! All in all though not bad...Read full review...
