Revived in better condition than it appeared in the photos

Was sent in good time and well packaged. The atlas was in better condition than it appeared in the photos. The flèche also came with it and in excellent condition (an item often lost or damaged)
The atlas is a classic easy to use item. This one is to replace the one’s have the other side of the world. Each page unfolds to give a clear easy to see outline of that portion of the sky with visual objects easy to define, even if using this in the dark under red light. It lacks fainter deep sky objects which are in easy to reach todays imaging sensors so from that standpoint may be a little outdated today. Although this atlas works very well with Burnhams celestial handbooks. The atlas used in conjunction with the handbooks to ease location of the targets with a scope. The flèche is a clear plastic sheet with a set sheet of grids printed on them that you can overlay on the page to get an accurate co-ordinate. This again is easy to use in the dark.
The pages are paper I a spiral binding. The cover is a water proof vinyl so provides protection from a wet table or can be quickly closed if there’s a sudden fall of dew.

Great Resource

I have been looking for a good used copy of this atlas for quite awhile and this one was it. If you are a seasoned or beginner amateur astronomer, this book is a must have to learn the night sky and it should be in everyone's collection. The edition I received is in excellent condition and it even came with the original plastic sleeve. Again, I highly recommend this atlas and you will find your observing sessions to be more rewarding.Read full review
