Surprisingly enjoyable! Especially when the moon is out!

Sonic has unleashed the forces of Dark Gaia and at night turns into A WEREHOG! So, naturally for half of the game (daytime) you will be playing as sonic in his usual 3D/2D alternating modern gameplay style where speed is of the essence. However, at night you will be playing as Sonic the Werehog, which is more battle-based platforming and is definitely NOT based on speed. Having thought that this part of the gameplay is what would have got in the way of a nice experience, I actually have found the nighttime stages to be enjoyable! Its slower pace means that it's easier to play when you've had a glass or two of wine compared to daytime stages which are definitely supersonic in pace. I like exploring and collecting things at night. Who would have thunk it?

The only improvements I would recommend are:
- Daytime Sonic can be a bit hard to control as he seems to move too fast!
- Nightime Sonic has wayyy too many battles. It should be more about exploring and finding objects, etc, not just battles. AND THAT BATTLE MUSIC! Drives me mad!

Apart from those two points, I thoroughly enjoy this game. If you're a Sonic purist though, you might not agree with me as the nighttime stages don't feel like a traditional Sonic game in any way.Read full review...
