Amazing Sound and value

I was amazed how good these V6 from Sony sound. I've tried other later Sony headphones, but these are the best by miles. I currently have Sennheiser HD650's, Audioquest nighthawk, Shure srh 840's and ATH M50X. These V6 are so comfortable to wear, lightweight and satisfying to my ears, that I've been using them more than my others recently. I'm using a little dot mk 5 dual mono amp to drive them and it's a marriage made in heaven. The bass is strong, deep and tight. The mids are clearly present and the vocals, all though a little rolled off, are presentable. Soundstage is not on par with any of my others, but more than acceptable. Even at high volumes, there's no distortion or siblance. They are so powerful. No sound leakage either which is a bonus. Ok, I'm not a fan of coiled leads ( replaced the coiled lead on the Shure's!) but for the V6's qualities, I can live with it. These really are Sonys finest and the reviews echo volumes to support them. Buy them now before they disappear to the second hand market. Studio monitor sound second to none!

These headphones have a very rich, 'studio monitor' sound, so if you're after a flat, open airy audiophile sound then look elsewhere....however they are GREAT headphones for detail and presence.
