Sony Clie PEG-NR70V -

Released on: 04/01/2002

Even though the original price of this PDA was $600.00 back in its day, I would have hesitated on the purchase, but after using one of these units, I have to rate it a 9 stars out of 10. I only paid about $55.00 for my NR70V so I can’t complain saving around $560.00 is huge, especially in this year of 2009

I love the built-in keyboard as it is much faster than using the screen keyboard. The build in camera is also very useful also as you don’t need to carry a separate camera. The picture quality is very impressive given one that0 it is built into a pda device .

The NR70V comes with an app called the Clié Remote Commander which lets it control TVs, VCRs, and other peripherals. This PDA does everything I need including playing MP3s, taking photos, and scheduling my appointments.

If you can score this PDA for under $60.00, you will not be disappointed at all. I hope this little review helps out and if it does, I would greatly appreciate a vote that the review helped. By the way, I will post the specifications below incase the listing did not post them for you. Thanks again and happy bidding. – pctechnician40

Close to the mark but stll a flaw.

The product is very good. The major fault is the battery doesn't work at all. This is the only fault I found, The screen and every everything else about the product is perfect - except the battery on this specific unit.Read full review...

Review of NX70V

I decided to buy the Sony NX70V due to a need to sync my outlook and have my schedule readily available. First since its a few years old you need to update the software to sync with current programs and it tends to occasionally freeze up after the sync but otherwise its great, the small keyboard is wonderful for writing and its sleek and the picture is great. I will probably not really use the camera or video feature but its nice to have. I definitely would recommend this pda!Read full review...

nice features kind of big

this is my first pda. I only got it because it is compatible with my weight watchers program. It has a lot of great features that I will probably never use. One neat feature is that it also functions as a television remote. My daughter freaked her teacher out at school with that one. LOL. It has the write on screen, but it can be challanging to use. Some letters need to be written "special" and I don't remember them. At those times it's really simple to switch to the touch screen and do it that way. Anyway it works for my purposes and I got a great deal on it. I've lost 26 lbs with the weight watchers thing so it's a win win.Read full review...

Compatability issues

The Sony PEG-70NR is a nice PDA, but it's internal memory is so low that without memory sticks as back up, your not going to be able to do much. The built in keyboard is a nice convenience and the camera is a cool feature, yet it, along with many items will not work with Windows XP 64. Also, you cannot play WMA files, only MP3's. You give up a lot of internal memory, features and compatability in order to have a built in camera and keyboard, it is NOT worth it! Buy the Dell Axium instead, it is a much better value for the money!

Great PDA

I got my Clie for evaluation purposes as part of a grant proposal that I was working on and really didn't see what the big to-do over PDAs was all about. Then I fell in love. This baby became an integral part of my life, until someone stole it from my office (and broke my heart). In the intervening years, I have tried other PDAs, but I'm coming back to the Clie. It does everything I need without the extras I don't care about (phone, bluetooth), has a great screen, intuitive programs, and easy data input. I am so glad to find it on eBay and agree with the other reviewer who said Sony screwed up when they stopped making this item.Read full review...

Great Upgrade

I purchased this model as an upgrade from another Clie that I had. I bought it also for the MP3 ability. I do not need a lot of storage, but having some songs available when you want to listen is great. It sync's very easily. Screen is big and bright. I don't really need or use the camera feature, but it is good to have 'just in case'. I would recommend this product for the PDA usage, but not if you are looking for a camera or big MP3 player.Read full review...

It's gone and thats a shame

This is a case of its a shame Sony pulled the plug on a great product. I bought it to help keep work organized. I know there are newer pda's that function as a phone as well, but I wanted a seperate unit for this...no phone attached. This is a great time saver that does so much more than it first appears. While the 1.3 Mega pixal camera is small by todays standards, it still works very nicely as does the music player. It has been a few years since Sony stopped making the Clie, but it still is an impressive piece of hardware.Read full review...

Nice PDA but not for the tekkies

This PDA is very good for "basic" PDA use and then some. The screen is bright and defitely larger compared to regular palms &/or other PDA for that matter. my only comment is it lacks wifi and bluetooth, its a good thing theres the NX and NZ series. I just bought the UX50 and i did got everything i wanted on a single device. =)Read full review...
