Sony S2 Sports ZS-X3CP S2 CD/Radio Boombox

This is simply a very nice unit!

I now have a complete set of these fine S2 units from Sony which are absolutely great credits to the marvels of Sony engineering. I use and enjoy them all. The CD 601 walkman with its included AM/FM radio sounds great and receives as well as any fine radio I have ever had. The armband M80 radio has that same great radio receiver technology and I enjoy it as well. Finally, and last but not least, I absolutely do not agree with the negative comments I've read about the 3 Sony S2 boom boxes. I have the X3CP model and not only does it look very nice, it's just a great performer. I expect that same radio receiver in the other units is also in these boom boxes. Mine picks up every station AM/FM which I would expect it to and the sound is absolutely superb. The base boost is great. The controls are easy to locate and well thought out and placed. I enjoy just holding and handling those S2s fine pieces of machinery. I wish Sony would bring them out again using the advanced technology of the last ten years since they went out of production. MP3 cannot not compare to the great CD formats. Its all in the physics of the engineering. The CDs are tops and fun. Thanks, Dave D., Fairfax, VermontRead full review

Alien Radio...

I've owned three of these. The first was stolen, the second my wife mistakenly sold at a garage sale while I was in Europe and the third I had to find on eBay because they don't make them anymore.
This is the last of the little portable stereos that is still a little old school while touching on the here and now. You can hook an MP3 player to it or play CD's. I like that it has good sound and is really small and well made. I can take it anywhere and don't need to be a tech wiz just to find a station.

Before you take it with you better check which cd's work,I guess

some mp3's won't work with this machine but will work on my other Sony's ? Other than that, it's working fine. But I guess it's hit and miss sometimes.
