Sony SRF-S84 AM/FM Radio

Marvellous Radio.

I think this radio is great, the sound is really good & I've been using one for around 5 years, size is great too usually clip it to my shirt and can have the pleasure of listening to it while at many outdoor jobs without earphones getting in the way, I use it almost every day at some time many days for quite a few hours, decided to get it after hearing one owned by a friend, after a couple of years the switch broke and I ordered another, then decided to take the back off the first and was able to get it switched on and continued using it just taking the battery out to turn it off, the first 2 were around £19 & price has more than doubled since, I'm still using the first one I bought but in the last few days I've been having a few problems with it so it may not last much longer and have just ordered my third one before prices rise higher or its gone altogether as it would be hard to replace and hopefully I'll be able to listen to it for many years to come, also purchased one for a friend. I've definitely had my moneys worth out of it, I've also used 3 Duracell rechargeable batteries, when 2 go flat I recharge them while using the 3rd they're also the only batteries ever needed for it and still working well also.Read full review

Initially good, probelms with reception later

I was very pleased with this when it first arrived. It is compact, had good sound quality and a useful belt clip. However, the reception and sound in the last couple of days have been very poor and it became almost unusable. I think it may partly be due to the headphones supplied or the tuning. I will try it with different headphones but feel that those supplied should work effectively after only a couple of weeks.Read full review

Small but mighty!

Simply the best personal radio ever for analog recption is outstanding and for many years people have wondered why. Sony make one of Radio IC's and have kept their secret and I don't blame them.
r>Sound is excellent of course the earphones supplied don't do it justice and this is the same for pretty much all headphones supplied with devices.

Battery last and last as there are no unnessary displays or lights!

I have bought 3 of these as I am worried it will go out of production....

Way better than DAB as DAB is just to unstable and with ever lower bitrates on DAB sounds way better.Read full review

Pocket Rocket

This little device has been a godsend for those boring walks at the start of the day from car to work, light weight and unobtrusive it has quite decent sound quality via earbuds even on AM transmission.
