It took me a minute to figure out how to route the wires but after straightening it out and learning the mic. Positioning it about right .Now after listening to my music & now after viewing a movie I can say that I am happy with all around sound.Unfortunately I am using my old 5.1 surround speakers and my amped.sub quit working same time my old receiver did .But with the speakers I have with a little 8” sub this receiver has a really clean crisp sound .As for condition I would recommend it.Read full review

Good value but not terribly powerful

It is a good value on sale however it is nothing like more expensive home theater receivers, it is fairly basic but does a decent job and has ok features for this price point. My biggest complaint is that it is rated at 145 watts per channel, if it somehow manages to produce that much it would have to be its absolute peak instantaneous power for maybe a nanosecond not RMS which is the only wattage rating that has any meaning. Even though it is underpowered I would recommend this as long as you get it for a good price (much less than retail) and are not trying to drive speakers very hard.Read full review

This is a great addition for any home theater

This is a great product for the money. The surround is excellent. I paired it with in wall speakers that have a great sound pattern. Now watching shows and movies is downright freaky. When there's a crowd scene voices will come from the various speakers about the room, at various volumes. My cats go nuts, because it's like there are other people around, and they are looking for those people. It's the first time they have ever really reacted to the television, and it's because this thing puts out some great, realistic sound. Hook up was a breeze. Just plug in the HDMI cables from your components, then the one out to the TV, put the battery in the remote, plug it in, turn it on, and you're ready to go. If you are hooking it to a smart TV the television will recognize it, and your tv remote will control the volume, and turning off the TV will turn off the surround, also. This system really is a great addition to the whole home theater, and well worth the money. Read full review
