Excellent phone, still punches above its weight 3 years after launch!

Great screen but useless for phone calls
I'm not a fan of tablet sized phones and this one is just about right for me. The screen is clear and the resolution AOK for web browsing, sat nav etc. More importantly it;s the first phone I've had with a display good enough to be read outdoors in full sunlight - no more hunting for shade or trying to shield it under a coat.
The big down side is that since the upgrade to Lollipop people can no longer understand what I'm saying when I make a phone call. with background noise reduction it is literally impossible to make them understand; with it turned off it sounds like I've got a pillow infront of my face and by speaking very slowly it is just about possible to be understood. Looking on the web shows it's not the only phone affected this way by the upgrade.
The waterproofing half works, After being caught in a heavy rain shower with the phone in my rucksack the phone wouldn't work because water had got into the SIM card and SDcard slots. The phone stayed dry inside so once I'd dried the card slots it was fine. Not as advertised but much better than no waterproofing at all
In lots of ways it is a great phone but stick with the original KitKat and ignore the Lollipop upgrade.Read full review...
