A seriously good small camera
I have been looking to upgrade my DSLR for a while and had a lot of Canon lenses as a result. I really wanted something that was good for traveling as well as able to give great results. If you are similar in your view then look no further. I was able to use most of my Canon lenses with an adapter, traded in my only one that didn’t for a Sony 18-105 lens. The combination is fantastic. The quality of the images able to be produced is exactly what I hoping for but all in a compact size. Very happy with this purchase.Read full review

Small, light, powerful. A real threat to full frame DSLRs.
Like all Sony Alpha cameras the a6500 is software controlled and needs some time investing in it to set it up to one's own requirements. It isn't a 'take it out of the box and start snapping' kind of camera. As with all my Sony cameras I used David Buch's 'Rocky Nook' guide to help set it up which as my 6th Alpha took a little over an hour.
Having set it up and invested in some quality 'E' lenses for it (as well as using some of my 'FE' lenses) I find it's a delight to use: small, light unobtrusive and, unless I need a 40+Mpixel RAW image from an A7Riii, it is my go to camera. My only niggle is on 'single shot' and RAW +jpg the time it takes to store the files and recycle and reset the viewfinder for the next shot.Read full review

A very versatile small camera with great autofocus, brilliant image stabilisation and excellent build quality. Not cheap but as a supremely capable small camera which gives superb results it's a winner.Read full review

cons and pro
1 auto white balance not good at all be careful
2 you change very hard the lense...all of sony a6500 seems to have this problem...its rotating very hard when you try to cgange the lense
And pro:-good autofocus, great image when not using awb,its not overheats like the a6000,a6300, its perfect for weddings for his good low light capabilityRead full review

Excellent upgrade from the a6000
I'm a video professional, but figured it would be nice to have a B-camera that can shoot decent stills. That's why I initially bought the a6000, which is an ok bit of kit.
This camera however: the stabilisation, touch autofocus and slog recording make it an incredible video camera to pair with my FS5.
The stills are incredible to match, can't recommend this little mirrorless enoughRead full review
