Vision superb and Sound wonderful!
The installation consists of a Sony curved-screen 4K UHD TV, a Denon AVR-X3300W and B&W speakers in a Dolby Atmos configuration.
The player is easy to install but you must have a suitable HDMI 2.0b/2.1 link to get the best results. I tried one lead which was claimed to be HDMI 2.0 but could not get the system to work satisfactorily so my advice is to be wise and get a decent cable.
I have tested the video output with several 4K UHD discs. The images are superb, with deep blacks and bright highlights. No problems on the video side!
I am also delighted with the performance of the audio. I have tested the system using a wide variety of CD's and DVD's. Those modes tested so far are:- Standard CD, HDCD, SA-CD, DTS 20-bit Audio CD, DVD-Audio, DVD Video sound with DTS-HD Master, Dolby True HD, Dolby Atmos and DTS-X. The A/V Receiver has responded correctly to all formats confirming the Sony claim that the player is compatible with almost any disc format!
I have also used it with a Region A Blu-ray disc set and found the switching of regions a simple task. It works automatically with Region 1 DVD's as well, there being no need to use the remote for this class of video disc.

Sony DVD player
The younger generation seem to prefer streaming. But that way you rarely own the item. But either with a cd or dvd you do. I have a large collection of DVDs so want a capable player which will bring out the best in DVDs, hence my purchase of the Sony. Great region free 4K player
I hooked this up to my Sony 4K tv and also 4K surround sound system. Picture quality is outstanding and the sound is fantastic
The one I bought had been modded to play different region blu ray films which is a huge bonus to me as I have different region films (special editions etc)

DVDs sort themselves out when playing multi region.
Blu Ray you just need to press a button on your remote before putting the disc in the tray to select region. One of three colours. If you can’t do this then you should not own DVD player lol

SONY 4K Ultra sharp and great sound.
Early impressions of this player is that the picture is super sharp in 4K and the sound is excellent. Watching the Mummy from 1999 in 4K was a revelation, like watching a new film. The effects came up so well and the picture was fabulous. Sony x800 4K player
Absolutely stunning player, knocks the sock off my old Panasonic player, I bought the multi region version so plays anything from anywhere in the world as most of my movies are region 1 and A not got a 4k tv yet but that will bee soon, but I can still watch 4k movies on my 1080p pioneer plasma and trust me they look the nuts, way better picture than standard blu Ray
Top player audio is stunning too as I’m running a 11.2 sound system Dolby atoms
If you have the money don’t hesitate buy one you won’t regret it top end player
