Probably the best Bluetooth clock radio out there

I went through 4 Bluetooth clock radios before I purchased my Soundfreaq Sound Rise. I am in no way an audiophile, but I spend a lot of time in my bedroom listening to movies or music on my tablet or phone and I found the offerings at Best Buy, Wal-Mart and other local stores very disappointing. The Sound Rise is the polar opposite of everything that is out there.

It is good looking, easy to use, feature rich and has great sound and volume. While other units spend their development dollars on gimmicks like led lighting and stands for your phone that can damage your phone and will be obsolete as soon as you get your next phone, the Sound Rise designers spent their time packing the unit with big sound, and features like weekday alarm control (to prevent weekend alarms) and sound profiling that gives you great sound no matter your taste.

My tablet doesn't have good volume and the Sound Rise is able to boost the volume to a tolerable level which is something that no other unit has been able to do. I also find the sound quality to be able to be consistent without distortion. I would like it to be a little louder but I think that with a better tablet it wouldn't be as much of a problem.

As far as price, you can get a Bluetooth clock radio at Wal-Mart or Target for less then the Sound Rise but they are merely clock radios with a tiny speaker and unless you are using it occasionally it isn't worth the money and Best Buy will offer some other options for around the same price but they are a just garbage. For the money there simply isn't anything that even comes close.

For light sleepers the Sound Rise offers a pleasant white display that can be dimmed to nothing. The controls are simple and intuitive and the Bluetooth radio connects easily and never gets disconnected (something that all the others I have tried suffered from)

The only complaints I have had is that for some reason at times the volume resets down to 25 from the max setting of 30 overnight at times which is really no big deal.

Nicest alarm clock I've owned

Two separate alarms can be set and determine which days to go off. The nice part about the alarms is that you have a max volume control. Where the radio will turn on and then gradually raise to the max volume. So you don't get that sudden heart attack shock in the morning of a loud sound going from silent to blasting.

The speaker sounds really good, you get a lot of bass, and for its size a surprising amount of volume -- in clarity without speaker distortion.

There is a brightness/dimmer button there are like 5 stages of brightness for the clock. It does put out a lot of light at night so second to the last dimmest option seems to be the best for me. You can turn the display off too.

USB port useful -- have it charge my iphone.
Aux input - 3.5mm I haven't tried it.
Bluetooth - It works well (tested with iphone/ipad)

Its not real wood, that's the only disappointment. However, it looks nice and offers a lot of nice features. Easy setup.Read full review

This sure beats my old clock radio!

Wonderful little clock radio that brings things into the 21 century. It is complicated to figure out how to use - especially when you first wake up and still have old habits. It takes a number of uses and trial and error to get it right and determine how many times you need to hit the on button. How to turn on to FM, how to turn off and not have the snooze button go off, etc. Not for a new user or the person who sleeps on the other side of the bed :-) Once the habit is learned it's less frustrating.
