Good waste of a few hours

I have played this game in the past, and its entertaining. I am in nursing school and need something to help me unwind. This is an easier game than some-well, most- and is colorful. Spyro is cute (oops: had a girl moment...) and there are several "puzzles" in the game that you have to solve to continue game play. The graphics are decent, but that isnt the games fault, more the platform on which it was released (weve all been spoiled by PS3's and 360's and dont appreciate the older games). If you can pick up a copy cheap I recommend it, cause like I said- its a great way to spend a waste a few hours.Read full review...

A die-hard fan's review: "Excellent, with fixed bugs!!"

This is my 10-yr old daughter's review:

"Pros: Great graphics for GameCube, decent to good soundtrack, lasts a while with value, a little like the classics, good gameplay, major bugs such as collision problems aren't as much here, glitches aren't as constant | Cons: Annoying dragonflies, dull storyline, sacrifices graphics from PS2 version

I will tell you what kind of gamer I am so you understand my judgment-

I am a die-hard Spyro fan (I have so many collectables it’s not funny); I am mostly into action, adventure, RPG and strategy games; I finish medium difficulty games in usually a week (Then, add on collectables and bonuses, I usually complete games entirely); and I am an XBox 360 achievement LOVER… boy, can’t go past those.

Now! Spyro The Dragon made the beginning of his debuts in 1998. The titles that came after Spyro’s first game, Gateway to Glimmer (Better known as Ripto’s Rage) and Year of The Dragon, were huge successes. After Year of The Dragon, Season of Ice was released. Beyond that were Season of Flame and Enter the Dragonfly- and the REAL review starts here...

Storyline... same as PS2 version. Dull, uninteresting, and very much like Year of The Dragon. But since bugs are fixed it's now bearable.

Graphics had to be lowered from PS2 because the GameCube didn't have the power for better graphics. Not a big deal, because the graphics still look great. It's only a little less clearer, nothing beyond that I can see.

Soundtracks are good but again, some parts I didn't like.

So overall buy this over the PS2 one if graphics don't bother you and you don't want as many glitches."

Not the best Spyro game, but for the nostalgia value it’s perfect. The quality of the disc and case was excellent.

My daughter loves this game

It's a lot to say about a game, (my daughter loving it). She doesn't play very many games or watch tv (which i'm pretty glad to see), but she did ask for me to get this game for her.

She actually asked me to obtain a game cube specifically to play this game (wasn't aware at the time that you could play in on the Wii :).Read full review...

Spyro:Enter the Dragonfly-if you loved the PS1 version.

If you loved the PS1 versions of Spyro, you will love this one for gamecube. The controls are very easy to master (even if you have never played gamecube, honestly i had never played a gamecube game until i got this one) and Spyro still has to collect gems, butterflys, drive vehicles, and there are portals in this game (unlike the new Spyro). The game has levels that are challenging as well as places you can just goof off/explore if you dont feel like playing a level and there are plenty of mini-games just like the old Spyro games I remember.Read full review...
