A shame they cancelled this series, just when it was getting interesting. There are extras here like the kino diaries, interviews with all the cast one by one, the Stargate 101 lessons, actor and director commentaries of every episode. If you like Stargate, this was the series without the jokes and a much darker emotional setting. Bad things happen to these people and they do not always win. This is the second off shot from the stargate series and in my opinion the best, it has great characters some of who are easy to like and considering they are stuck on a ship flying through the galaxy the story of their journey is interesting with different planets abd alien races. A must-have collection

S.G.Universe follows all the other Star Gates, but I think is the best and can't think why it was shelved after only two series.
I think the plot is absorbing, and the characters become like old friends as we follow them through all their trials and tribulations.
So that by the end of series two, we really care what happens to them.
So, I think, very well acted, very well scripted, and very well filmed.
I have all the episodes on my hard drive, but I am very pleased with this DVD complete set, the reproduction is much better than on my TV, and there seem to be extra snippets thrown into each episode, all in all, a very good buy I would recommend to any S.G.U fan as a must-have.Read full review

Great value double DVD boxset which I have enjoyed watching

Proper deep and meaningful ScFi with serious acting which I really enjoyed. I was never a fan of Stargate SGU 1 and especially of Stargate Atlantis because the main character's in those two shows aren't providing good acting performances at all.

Their acting and performances are so plastic that if you placed them next to a radiator they would melt. If you’re a fan of that and just want to be entertained with lots of action and battles, but don't care about the acting and the characters having some real depth and meaning then the first two Stargate franchise are for you.Read full review

It’s nice to have a little darker version of the stargate series franchise. The plots and stories similar but with edgier characters. Should of continued the series, 2 was not enough.
