Nostalgia

Neat, attractive, easy to operate compact little machine with amazing volume level. Some people might find the sound quality a little too bright but it is fine for my old ears. I can certainly reccomend it and I love my little cream version.Read full review

Good basic radio/cassette but recording quality isn't great

Nobody seems to make a cassette recorder with a plug-in mike any more. I bought this just to record my voice but the radio seems good so worth buying for that too. Sound quality is dismal compared to the old cassette recorders but I had to take what I could get. It's fine for your kids or your grandma but don't expect high performance. For the price, it's great. I'd be more than happy to pay 10 times as much for a cassette recorder with separate mike that works properly, though!Read full review

Steepletone cassette player

Looks good, looks modern. I thought it was good value. But that's where it ends, sadly. Cassettes sound so tinny that I have to play them from 2 metres away. The sound is so distorted that it hurts my ears. I needed to play my Turkish cassettes again, but this machine doesn't deliver.

Steepletone portable radio tape cassette player

A nice looking compact player with a retro feel to it. However the sound quality is appalling with such a loud background buzz and hiss that it is difficult to hear the audio material. I would not advise anyone to purchase this product and will not ever buy another one when this one ceases functioning.Read full review

Neat and stylish radio/cassette/recorder

It's great to be able to play my cassettes again, and although the sound is only mono, it is not tinny.
Also used to record my students, and the quality is certainly good enough.

It's smaller than I was expecting, but that is a bonus, as it fits neatly onto my dressing table without dominating.

Well worth the money.

Good machine and good value

Sound quality is quite good through the machine's speaker and very good through an old HiFi speaker (using a headphone plug and flex). AM/FM tuning is 'user friendly' and both signals are good. I bought it because I still have lots of old cassettes which I never bothered to transfer to another medium and the cassette deck seems good and durable. Auto stop works fine. It's a good product.Read full review

Tone is very tinny. If it were not for the fact that I wanted the record facility I would have sent it back.

Everything works but the quality is as expected rather poor, but you do get what you pay for.
