Great product

Found that using 2 x 12 volt switching "wart on wall" transformers didn't increase noise to any extent...also change the dreadful 4.7 uf bipolar electrolytic capacitors for poly prop bipolar caps ( will need flying leads as a lot larger) and wow...what a great little phono stage. Fresh sounding with great silky sound. Don't use the 50 db setting unless really low output MM cartridge as will sound a bit ragged...Hard to think of a better phono stage for the price...and I've heard lots...Also increase the size of the other electrolytic caps to say 680 uf and makes a bit better as well but not as much as the 4.7's ...fabRead full review

Best I could find at this price point

Basically what is inside the average mid priced RIAA phono amplifier is an IC & it is just the surrounding components that create the required curve.
consequently if you are just constructing your own PCB card use one like this, I have used this card for a while & it sounds really good. I have one that cost more than double this price & it sounds just the same. it is only when I test it that I can see the more expensive PCB has a stricter curve & maybe slightly quieter. in practice this PCB is more than adequate & reliable.Read full review

good attack, and spacial organization and PRAT

Very good sound for the money. Very good attack, and spacial organization and PRAT.
Not quite as good as a Dynavector P75 MK III but really very close on MM. Just took it over to another friends place to try out. We think it betters his Musical Fidelity phono stage which costs much more. He has bought one too. We both have expensive systems and this phono amp is not out of place. Highly recommended. Some tricked out mods and versions are depicted in the photos. One using a Sparkos op amp and clarity capacitors which is better than the dynavector p75. For $200 you can have a phono pre amp that out performs a $1000 easily. I know I have both.Read full review

Excellent sound and very versatile

I replaced the power and coupling capacitors and the op-amp for a higher quality one. I used a 24VDC switching power supply on V- and V+ with a 4700 Ohm resistor from each -/+ to ground (virtual ground) and it works great. Sounds as good as some $600 phono preamps I've heard.Read full review

Robust and excellent sounding.Discrete dimensions allow very elegant chassis design as pictured.

This is a great sounding board. It have the possibility to adjust the specific cartridge to it's electrical properties.
The board is compact and reliable over time.

Pre-Amp

The most trouble I had was printing out the schematic!! I found it moderately difficult to set up. But once I had it set-up (despite a few mistakes on my part) it performed very nicely. I wish I had an oscilloscope to measure the noise output. A very nice circuit!Read full review
