Heater that does work

I wanted to review this heater because I read some reviews that say 12v heaters don't work...well this one does I'm am engineer and look at the heater element the air flow etc... This is as best your going to get for a 12v heater it is also rated and fuse fitted to protect your car.
Remember though this is a 12v heater 160watts that's it... The heat extends about 1 ft from the the heater it warmed my car up quite well .
My only concern was the heat from the lead after about 5 min you can feel heat in the wire with this in mind it's important not to fold the lead or wrap it in a ball you must fully extend the lead it has a full run time of 15 min then you must shut it off for 5 mins to cool down.
I bought my heater to heat my 4 man tent ... I have o lu used it in the car so far and will be field testing this for a whole week this should be a rigorous test for this heater.
It also has a touch light and a large red light which I'm not sure what it is for yet but so far I would recommend this I will review again after my field test with this heater.
It is actually sold as a demister and has two settings cooling fan and heat really but I think the heat coming from this so far is very good the build quality is good two it comes with a fitting bracket to stick to the dash ... A great way to clear the mist

I bought this because my electric windscreen demister is on its way out. I leave it on the dashboard whilst I clear the rest of the car and it really works well. For the first time in ages I can drive up the road without fear of being blinded by the low sun. The unit can be held as well but to be honest I have not needed to do that.Read full review

Something to consider before you buy.

One thing is do you really need it ??
I don't understand some reviews where it seems the heating in the cars works fine .. in which case why would you want to buy a £15 add on and then moan because it doesn't work.
The unit itself is roughly 8 inches by 8 inches and the heat blower is merely an inch square.
It's been powered by a car fag lighter ..
So how powerful do you actually expect it to be????
I bought this because the heating in my car doesn't work at all .. so rather than spend £100 to correct that fault I spent £ 15.
It does only blow out a small area to demist the window and it does only warm up a slight amount..
But when I am sat in my car in the morning and it is below - 3 with no other way to warm up other than wear about 10 coats then it is actually pretty warm !!
If anything the lesson learnt from this is don't buy a Peugeot !!
And if your heaters work fine then man up !!Read full review

Okay, but a little shoddy.

It’s ok, but shoddily made, the orange ‘in operation’ light is to big and reflect distractingly, in the windscreen I had to cover it up with tape. My van in winter, is often damp and misty. The device clears the screen quite quickly, but the fan is a little feeble.Read full review

Total crap

So the advert and box says 12v and the instructions manual says 15v and do not plug into a 12v socket! It does work but very faintly, barely any heat or any difference and this is even in a very small car. Save yourselves the time and don’t buy this Read full review

Not worth the money

I have had this for 3 weeks now and is on all the time in my car because my heating doesn’t work the heat that comes from it is no more than if I was blowing on the window myself it will not heat the car at all and the red light is so bright it is very distracting , I wouldn’t buy it again it was a wast of money Read full review
