ROOF Bars

PRO: I had previous bought expensive roof bars and not used them that much. These are less expensive and I don't mind them sitting in the garage waiting for their need to arise. CON: On the minus side, they need a long shaft or flex drive with a hex head to set up on my V50 and the locks are a bit flimsy, but they are practical and serviceable for putting on and taking off the car. Now it’s fine. This could have caused a lot of damage. I am using the bars to transport bicycles. In my opinion the product is dangerous. Well made and Good value

The fitting is fiddly but quite easy. A drawback is that the rubber feet and rubbing strips tend to fall off or come loose. The feet would be easy to lose if taking off and refitting. I secured them with a dab of superglue. A couple of the locking bar ends were very stiff to lock and unlock and WD40 has to be used to loosen them. Otherwise well made and good value. Quick and easy to fit using supplied hex key but note you'll need to use the key each time you take the bars off and put them back. A little tedious if you intend to install/remove regularly....
Overall quiet when loaded but the bars do whistle and may oscillate (noisily) at higher speeds when unused.

Superb roof bars , only a slight problem with all 4 locks , had to use pliers on the key to turn them, once off l put oil on the locks which appeared to solve the problem
