For me, this will always be a classic to read and re-read

This is a reprint of the 1976 original story, televised by the BBC in 1975. The stock photo on the cover is from the later 2008 remake. The original story is quite dark, very believable with a true to life characters that are believable, flawed heroic and vulnerable. For anyone who has seen the original TV series, the story will feel familiar. However, the ending of the book is very different together with most of the encounters within the story - familiar, but different - much darker. I cannot recommend this story enough. If you love Sci-fi/end of world or just really want to read something that explores people in an extreme situation, please read it.Read full review...
