Great for Pastel Pencils and normal pencils
I draw with Pastel Pencils and they are so difficult to sharpen, they are exspensive an quite delicate. I have tried so many normal sharpeners and they blunt after a short time and the pencils often break. I saw someone using this type of sharpener on You Tube and decided to give it a try. It's brilliant I get a lovely point on the pencils and they don't break inside. Very pleased with this sharpener.Read full review

Not good for some pastel pencils
Disappointed as I wanted to use it for pastel pencils and found that some of my pencils were too thick for them. I will use it for standard graphite pencils though.

Very capable sharpener
If you are like me tired of pencil sharpening and looking for a simple and effective solution then you have found it!
I am thankful to an YouTube video, I watched before buying it.
I would advise you to do a search and watch it too.
It did jam only once but to be fair to it someone had tried to sharpen the same pencil before me and left a broken tip detached from the rest of the pencil core. If this happens to you just open it up and clean it - not a complicated task.

Works well on good quality pastels
Because most sharpeners aren’t any good for pastel pencils. This has a cross thread cutter and sharpened my pastels really well without chewing them up or breaking the pastels.
