Worst radio I have ever had in my hands!
In the city: all AM bands are full of noises making impossible to listen weaker signals, especially radio amateurs, FM reception is quite good, but sound quality is far from excellent.
Outside city: AM reception is significantly better, but SSB beat band tuning is working badly - it is very hard to tune exactly and it is working "asymmetrically" - turning clockwise is different from turning counterclockwise. FM reception is very bad. AIR band is useless and it is full of ghost stations from SW band.

Nice Radio but one missing one needed ergonomic feature
Looks and feels very nice and functions well. Gets distant stations too, so worth the money. However, I wish it had a lock feature. The dials are positioned so that moving/handling the radio will too easily turn the dials losing the station setting. A lock switch like some of my other radions have would be great.Read full review

TECSUN PL-660 World Band Receiver
Good build quality, good features. The button/ knob placement on this radio is identical to an Eton E-10, but the functions assigned to many of those buttons and knobs are different. The radio has lots of memories and functions, which have been a little challenging to figure out, as the instructions in the Operation Manual are not always easy to follow. Some of the info found on YouTube is helpful. Over all, I am not disappointed with the radio; one of the main reasons I chose this one is the BFO for listening on SSB.Read full review

LOVE LOVE LOVE
After exhaustive research and many reviews I decided to go with the PL-660. As my first SW radio used for SWL and DXing I could not be happier. Takes me back to my childhood listening to music on AM with my walkman as I explored the woods.
So many ways to explore and listen to radio and learn with this unit and that's just the major broadcasters. When I learned how to use the SSB and found the DX listings on eham net I was in new territory. So cool listening in on all these communications.
Everything the reviews I read stated were spot on. Especially the rich warm sound of the internal speaker. When I'm scanning SSB or DXing I typically use the quality headphones that are included, but many times I unplug them just to be able to listen via the speaker. Its small but very nice. Love the sound quality.
The DSP and AGC work very well and are consistent. Programming can be a bit technical and sometimes not intuitive but the manual is very thorough and well written. Anytime I had questions anon-co was fast to reply to my emails and were very helpful and friendly. Also love the fact it can smart charge my Ni-MH rechargable eneloop batteries. In addition to the DC charger I received the USB cable as well so I can power it from my laptop or powerbank as needed if I'm away from home. A nice carrying case with some light foam insulation rounds out the package. The case is nicer than I expected and I use it more than expected.
Originally bought the radio for emergencies but ended up using it on a daily basis. Very happy with my purchase and with Anon-Co Customer service.

Big improvement over the Tecsun PL600
I'm a Ham Radio Operator. Last fall I had a potential Ham buy a Tecsun PL600 for around $80 including shipping I showed him how it works and really got to like it....I showed it to other radio club members who were also impressed. I just returned from a stay in China where I looked for the PL600 thinking they'd be selling for around $50 each. NOPE! they sell in Guangzhou for nearly US100!! I got on line and found this seller and I'm delighted to get this great radio, the upgrade to the PL600 for LESS than I would have paid in China! LOL First, this is a very fine seller. The radio was very well packed for shipping to the USA. The PL660 has a great sound and with earphones the FM stereo rivals the best I have at home. SW functions, the Side Band feature is the big draw. For way under $300 this is a great radio for listening to HF bands. Don't expect the sound/receive quality of a Yaesu 950, but for a small, compact and inexpensive radio the PL660 beats the competition hands down. One complaint I heard from one of my friends who bought a PL600 is that the radio never seems to turn off. Well, it's on stand by with very little power drain and this is not the radio you want if you plan to keep it in a drawer somewhere waiting for a camping trip. It's always ready to go! And I love it! I own other Tecsun radios from previous trips to China (if you're in Guangzhou, China go to Xin da Xin on Beijing Lu). GET THIS RADIO and Enjoy! Read full review

Pushes All The Buttons!
The Tecsun PL660 PLL is my first multi-band radio thus I have no benchmark to base this review on, but by and large the radio came very well packaged and feels of great quality. Everything has worked very well so far.
My one gripe is the supplied electrical adapter doesn't fit directly into Australian/New Zealand wall outlets but a universal conversion plug is included.Read full review

OK, This is best for FM and SW side bands
Reception in the am band is not what I thought it would be. Better if it had a ground and AM band antenna connection. Good in SW side bands The BFO knob needs a top center mark, but I have added one with a silver permanent marker. I have yet to hear any traffic at 122.95, unicom on the air band. This too may need a stand alone an antenna. FM is very good. This will be a fun travel/ outdoor radio as it needs space to preform it's best away from home RF. A good buy at the price.
