Absolutely brilliant

I was struggling with the useless virgin media WiFi. I was getting 360Mb at the box using a wired ether net connection but only around a fifth of that sat 6 feet away via WiFi and less than half of that in rooms upstairs. I had tried range extenders and the plug in devices without any significant increase in coverage. I then bought the deco and everything changed. I now get only slightly less than the 360Mb sat 6 foot away via WiFi and the upstairs is around 300Mb via WiFi. I live in a typical 4 bed detached and bought the 3 pack but I reckon I could have got away with only two. They were easy to set up via the app and have been very stable for the past few weeks since purchasing. Best thing I have bought for the house in ages. Read full review...

Misleading

I'm a network engineer

1. Slow, only 7-8MB/s to my server, old Wi-Fi was 38-45MB/s
2. No resilience. If a node goes down, the mesh goes down, no rerouting
3. No ethernet backhaul. Doesn't use cabled network, keeps using slower wifi backhaul.
4. Poor latency. Pings are higher than current router, also alarmingly high delays randomly.

I can't see how anyone can think this is an upgrade

Good system with a minor issue

The units have given my house the good WiFi signal that I desired with only one issue. All units are connected via Ethernet back-haul so the speeds are great but any clients connected to the third unit had major ping spike issues. This caused my lad to have major issues playing online as he would freeze often and I was unable to have a Teams meeting as the audio would drop out every 10 seconds or so. This was confirmed as packet loss and ping spikes by pining the router. After some searching on the forums I solved the issue by disabling MESH for the clients that were having issues. This doesn't appear to have helped everyone though so YMMV. It's not perfect but I'm more than pleased now the system is working as I wanted.

Mine is running in access point mode as it was the only way to integrate my pi-hole within my particular setup.

Easy to set up and I like the app.

Only to be expected for the price..?

These mesh WiFi systems aren't the cheapest way of extending your coverage, however, I have to say it was really very simple to set up.

I live in a victorian terraced house with plenty of solid walls, which required various repeaters to get reasonable coverage from front to back and top to bottom.

The Deco 5 triple has cured all the dead spots in the house at first attempt at placing the units in sensible locations - they obviously need a mains socket nearby.
A nice bonus was extending coverage to the garden decking.

Laptops and mobiles now get seamless coverage wherever they roam and stationary kit, PC, TVs etc can be hard wired if desired.

So far, I see no down side..!

Mostly Good

Works well and is easy to set up. Once set up and connected to your existing router, it creates it's own wifi network with it's own password that is independent of your original network.
This caused a few problems with some of my connected stuff (Philips Hue, Sonos and Hive) that I'm still attempting to resolve. My router is a Virgin Hub 3 and I understand that it might have to be switched to work solely in 'modern' mode for the new network to operate without problems. This remains not done so far as for some reason my router no longer recognises it's password. No doubt these minor problems will be overcome with a little more investigation, but I could have done without them.
Summing up, I do still recommend the TP-Link kit, but bare in mind that everything might not go as smoothly as you might wish.

Easy all the way and great results.

Put my Virgin Superhub in modem only mode and followed the instructions for setup of the Deco's through
the app I previously loaded on my phone and bingo..........
no more wifi drop outs or weak or dead spots.

Easy to use, easy to setup and really happy with the product and even the packaging was premium.

Excellent product but inaccurate instructions

Very impressed with the quality and design. Setting up the original triple pack was straightforward, following the clear instructions on the App. We bought an additional 4th Wi-Fi unit to add to our home network and followed the instructions (both on the APP and online guidance) - both were misleading and wouldn't work. I then stumbled across a simple '+' sign on the App and quickly figured it out for myself. It beggars belief why a company would not have identified this fundamental flaw in their otherwise straightforward instructions.
and very efficient.
Overall, a great product, which does what it says on the tin, providing strong & stable Wi-Wi signal across a huge area, unlike many other plug-in Wi-Wi network systems.

The WiFi coverage in our house is transformed

We had patchy WiFi coverage in certain areas around our three-storey house before installing the Deco M5 whole-home 3-pack, but that is now a thing of the past.

Installation was very straightforward and following initial installation we tested the upper floor units in several locations to further optimise the coverage to also include our garage which is 15 metres from the house itself - something I didn't expect to work so this was an added bonus.

An added bonus was the ability to disable our existing router WiFi network and use the same details on the Deco system saving the need to reconfigure approaching 30 devices with new details!

The included utilities are also very welcome bonus albeit I just wanted to end up with a system that provided solid WiFi coverage throughout our house.

Fantastic refurbished router

You wouldn't know it's a refurbished product! Bought this to replace a shocking Virgin Media Superhub and it has performed incredibly well! The range is as advertised and the speed is also a vast improvement. We have over 25 devices connected too.
Definitely would recommend to anyone struggling with a Virgin Media router. It's easy enough to set up with the companion app.
Simply can't praise this enough

Made a massive difference

We have 67 mbs plus net. Our products worked great near our router but terrible upstairs and not all in our loft conversion.
This product is amazing - the same speed now in the loft as in the living room on wifi - about 50 mbs.
Easy to set up and has made a massive difference to everyone’s internet surfing enjoyment - my 2 teenage daughters are ecstatic

Simple and low cost but effective mesh network

If you’re fed up with messing with wifi boosters and repeaters and still not able to get Wi-fi all over your house, then a mesh network is probably the answer.
This solution was quick to install and setup using the downloadable app on my phone and we noticed an immediate significant improvement in signal in areas where we’d been unable to get coverage. A major success.
One small issue is that they don’t support PoE so need to be splurged into the mains.
