Super easy setup

So what can you say, you plug the single Ethernet socket into your router (and the wall mains socket) and then put your other one where ever you want(as long it’s in the same ring main) and then click pair on both and your connected, then log into the plugs by app or web browser, I found the app easier and then you can change the name of the SSIF to match your router and also split the channels to 2.4Ghz and 5 GHz. There are patently controls as well. I’ve used these for many years and different models and always found TP link the best for value as well as performance.

Things to be aware of, if you have two fuse boxes they may not work that well, as this would indicate you ha e two different circuits.

The WiFi whilst good, the whole point is to use the Ethernet ports.

Alternatives to this I would advise a mesh network(I use two asus routers) which work exceptionally well, but it comes and a very high cost.

New version pairs well

This is version 5 of the TP WiFi extender. The design has been around for a long time. It is much neater than the pass through ones. Which are large and clumsy.

Whether it is the later version, or I was just lucky, this new one paired with one of my older ones first time. It also carried over the SSID and password for the system first time. Furthermore, the instruction sheet is now much clearer.

The downside of this being effectively an old piece of kit is that it is 2.4GHz only. Dual band would obviously be preferable. However, it definitely does the job and powerline networking is cheaper, and arguably more effective, than mesh systems. There is also the Ethernet socket.

Excellent product

Excellent speed and reliability. I have the same performance as my main modem/router which is also TP-Link. It does work on different circuit at my place tho, I don’t know how, but I was thinking I would have a problem…but nope. Very happy.
I also use mesh network, which is unbelievable amazing! It is a bit bigger than expected, but stylish. 5 of 5 from me.

Good product - Fair trader

These Powerlines work better than the old BT ones they replaced. The signal through the wire seems very strong , but I am disappointed with the WiFi connection. They are quite expensive generally,, but these were sold at a better price. Packing and delivery were goodRead full review...

Works well

I was using this to add to an existing system and found it easier to use the TP-link application on my computer to set it up. It has been working well since.

Does the job

The unit a little larger than I though and would prefer the plug the other way up, but works fine.
