Old School Guitar Amp Becomes Beaut Bluetooth Speaker

Had been looking around for a set bluetooth speakers and didn't like the look of any them, or the price to be honest. I have some nice guitar amps, which I unfortunately don't get to use very often. I decided to see on the off chance if I could turn these amps into part time speakers, as it turns out, it's an easy thing to do these days. I searched for a couple of bluetulooth recievers, BlueAnt, Logitech, etc... but was sold on the price and tech for the TP-Link HA100. From the specs it looked like the best value for the price, but I was skeptical at first, seeing as this was about a 10th of the price as a basic bluetooth speaker set.

I needed a 3.5mm stereo female to 6.35mm male audio jack converter, which set me back about $4, but a part from that everything else comes with the TP-LINK HA100. I didn't know what to expect first time around, I read through the instructions (took about 5 seconds), hooked it all up (took about 5 seconds) and connected my phone's bluetooth to the reciever (took about 5 seconds). Tried first up in my little Marshall practice amp 15wtt... worked perfectly. Great sound, a little compressed, but you had to try hard to notice it. Went through a whole range of music and styles (from classical to punk to metal to drum and bass to house), all sounded good. Stepped it up to my Marshall 100wtt head and quad, nearly blew the windows out - was brilliant. The range of the device is solid, I can move freely around my house 2 storey and outside in the garden without missing a beat, can change songs as simply as pushing a button, I will look at other music player apps on my phone/computer now, even though the basic player works fine.

I have the little amp on display in the main loungeroom, the TP-Link setup permantly behind it, it's small so unless you know it's there you would have no idea there was a reciever. Get home from work switch the amp on walk away selecting a song and by the time I've put the keys on the bench the house is full of tunes. Exactly what I wanted out of bluetooth speakers, but now I have it playing through a sweet Marshall amp for everyday use (makes for a good talking point as well when people see the setup), and when the occasion arises switch to the big stack - usually for parties etc...

Excellent, practical and works superbly. So glad I came across it and gave it a try. Service from sydneytech was exceptional, will do business again.

Cheers,

Phil.
