TP Link router extender

TP link router extender easy to set up and works fine. Once or twice it has dropped out but resets quickly with just a push of a button.

Use a different name (SSID) to the SSID of your router

OK, after teething issues. I had problems with this, and another TP-LINK extender I already had, when I used the router (SSID) name for both these extenders. I did some Google research and found out that even though the 3 units had the same SSID name, the devices did not jump to the strongest/nearest signal, but clung on to the original weak signal. There are 2 solutions, according to Google. 1 is to have separate names (SSID) for each extender. And the other is to invest in a very expensive mesh system, which would enable me to wander around and connect to the strongest signal automatically. I chose the first one, which means that all static devices are simply connected to the SSID with the strongest signal. And for tablets/laptops the network needs to be manually changed, depending on which SSID is strongest in a particular room. Read full review

Easy to setup but keeps going offline and has to be restarted.

I've reset and configured it 3 times now.
It keeps going offline.
It broadcasts the ssid and I can connect to it but no internet.
After a restart it works for a few hours then same again.
Not great. Wouldn't recommend it.Read full review

Wifi extender

Wall material in my flat degraded WiFi significantly over very short distanced. The tplink re305 restored the speed I enjoyed near the router to the same in my furthest bedroom. Still not a great distance but effectively doubled my useable WiFi on 2.4 and 5Ghz channels.Read full review
