TP-Link AC1750 "good budget buy".

It is easy to set up, which took a couple of minutes and a couple of minutes more to find the best location. The price was good and the quality seems good also. I would have given it 5 stars but the range I feel has been over exaggerated and I'm not really getting a full signal in my workshop which is located about 50 feet from its current location. It may be that there is interference from the strip lights which I need to investigate. However I'm pleased with the purchase.Read full review...

Fell short of expectation.

It was troublesome to set up but did finally work close to the modem. Then I moved it upstairs to the bedroom and plugged it in about 3m from the modem (with a floor and wall in between). That was ok. But now it only works intermittently , 1/2 the time it’s red. It seems to be interrupting other equipment connected to the WiFi.
When it’s blue I do have improved connectivity upstairs but 2 other tvs now hang from time to time.

You won't regret it.

Dual band is the way to go.
I now get at least 9 Mb/s anywhere in the garden and 20 anywhere in the house.
Easy to set up. Only drawback is the width. You can't use a socket on either side.
Buy one. You won't regret it.Read full review...

Easy solution to domestic wifi reception problems.

Plug it in near the router, press the WPS button on the router snd the WPS on the TP-Link, wait about 30 seconds, repeat the procedure for the 5ghz frequency (if you have it, if not don’t bother). Move it then to a socket not too far away from the router, wait a couple of moments and job done. Much easier than I expected; took no more than 10 minutes to set up. Instructions are very clear and easy to follow.

Coverage is excellent: the erratic signal from the router is perfect now in those parts where it would come and go and be regularly interfered with by neighbouring routers. As I move around the house, devices switch automatically from the original router to the extender and back.

Doubtless, there will be some situations, eg big house and/or many and thick walls, where the coverage might not be adequate (buy a mesh system for that, perhaps), but for most domestic users this gadget will be more than enough.

Only a small criticism: the device is larger than the pictures suggest and you need to ensure enough space around the wall socket when the aerials are extended.

Fixed our slow WiFi

We needed a way of getting WiFi to the end of our house, far away from the main router. This extender was easy to install and it has boosted the speed from about 10% from the main router to 50% which is great. The only reason for not giving 5 stars is that it doesn't boost the speed to close to the main router but it has fixed the problem.Read full review...

Wi-Fi Amplifier

This is a very powerful WiFi range Extender, buy one or more to set up as a mesh system around your home. They are a bit difficult to set up, this is best done through a pc using the ether net cable provided makeing sure all other internet connections are disabled. I have also set up through an Android phone but this is very difficult to do. Overall a brilliant bit of kit.Read full review...

Great repeater just use web interface to setup.

Just fitted a TPLunk Archer 5400. Needed some compatible repeaters so kept with the brand. These are superb kits. One piece of advice. Plug in, look for the unit to appear in your WiFi ssid and select it. Log in to the web interface as shown on instructions and set your needs manually. I chose to use a specific name for the 2.4 and 5ghz bands to clearly identify it. Don’t rely on your phone or tablet to select the best SSID as you move around. That’s not TPLink fault.
I paid £54 and that’s excellent value.

NEAT, EFFECTIVE AND STABLE WI-FI

Excellent range extender.
the only problem I had was, when first setting up, my anti-virus programme kept telling me my network was under attack and locked me out of the internet.
to solve the problem I had to go back into the extender setup and manually change the IP address to match my router.
Now the system works fine and I have wi-fi at the bottom of both of my gardens.

Really seemed to work, for awhile. And now? Worse with the unit plugged-in.

Internet speed tests now consistently show poorer results when this device is plugged in. No idea why.
Our son set this up for us. All the blue leds are on, as they apparently should be. The differences are not huge, but they are not in this units favour - plugged in they are around 10 for download and 7 for upload. Unplugged? 14/9. Both sets of figures are poor.
We only began to notice over the later part of lockdown, so the amount of traffic may have something to do with it.
The online manual is a horrifying mess, the exact and precise opposite of plug and play. Looking at it makes my heart sink. Even if you do set it up correctly, plainly it doesn’t necessarily stay that way.
Resoundingly NOT recommended.

And I challenge all those who thought this was beneficial to at least try switching it off and see what happens……
