More "Super" than most RC cars!
The Hot Shot may be an older design and it's not as fast or capable as some of the more modern cars, which in my opinion simply does not matter. My first car was a Tamiya Super Champ (a few years ago...okay, maybe slightly more than a "few") which I sold in 1989. My intent was sell my Super Champ (which I loved) and to buy a Hot Shot but ended up using the money on a real car. I have a specific need for a low profile 4WD buggy that I can attach a WiFi cam and use it as an inspection vehicle under my house. It works very well for this purpose. When it's not crawling around under my house, it's screaming on the dirt parking lot accross the street. I'm running it with a sensored brushless 13.5 turn motor. It's amazingly fast and the "Super" Hot Shot enhancements gets lots of attention. The car is strong, reliable (when maintained) and very capable. There have been very few cars that look more awesome in design that perform as well as the Super Hot Shot.Read full review

Great kit, best of the Hotshot series, if you like vintage buggies the Super Shot/Hotshot is one of the best and a great flashback for an old 40 something like me who always wanted one as a kid
