The perfect compliment for my old Nikon D4.

I have been using the first edition of the Nikon 24 to 120mm zoom lens for about 20 years now, and although it has been great for portraits and group gatherings, it had some annoying quirks when I used it outside for landscapes (couldn't use a petal lenshood, the horizons curved upwards, etc). So I looked at modern replacements, and the Tamron came with very positive reviews. It doesn't have the length of the old Nikkor, but it has a wider aperture, and stationary lenshood,plus VR. Great Lens, Tack Sharp, Lighter & smaller than its Nikon equivalent, Much cheaper than the Nikon.

Heavy but performs brilliantly.

Excellent lens. Heavier than I expected but solidly built and good quality. The lens cap is awkward with the hood in place but it is the only negative point I can think of.

Quality Lens at a sensible price

Excellent value for the money, half the price of the Canon, a no brainier with the advantage of image stabilisation. A great piece of glass for the money, great results.
