Impeccable lens
Amazing lens. The VC makes the lens superior to the name brand versions in my opinion. Consistent sharpness, good colors, and the price alone make this a winner. Tamron’s newer pro line of lens they have been making the past couple of years are top notch. There are no focus issues like the Art line. I am just waiting on them to put out a 135 f1.8. I own the Tamron 45, 85, 24-70 G1, 70-200 G2 with the 85mm being my go to for most portrait sessions and the two zooms being my wedding lenses mainly. I shoot a Canon 5DS, so they need at least a 25mp score for sharpness for zooms from dxomark and a 30mp or higher for primes. My 85 is 38mp which is beyond excellent and only bested by a Zeiss and my 70-200 is a 36mp sharpness. Their new lenses are clearly made for the larger megapixel cameras that are coming on the market. My L lenses other than my 35mm f1.4L and 135mm f2L can not keep up with the new line of Tamron lenses. To top it off they are half or more cheaper and all have VC even the small primes!!! It’s a win/win in my opinion.Read full review

Good enough
Lens is fine for the average photographer but not suited for the quality of picture I was looking for. I bought it after owning the 24-70 L2.8 V1. I thought the picture sharpness along with the the VC would be an upgrade form the canon's V1 but it wasn't. I did a comparison on a 5dm3 up against my 24-105 L IS f4 and the canon kit lens was easily better in the categories that were important to me. Picture sharpness, focus speed and color were better with the canon 24-105L, a lens I never gave that much credit. I sent the Tamron back an will end up using the 24-105 that has been sitting in my bag.Read full review

Wonderful all around lens!
I had been searching for an all around lens that produced sharp images and performed well in low light on my Classic Canon 5D. I was saving to splurge on either a Sigma ART 35mm or 50mm. I love those two focal lengths and simply couldn’t decide and only had the funds for one or the other. After much research I stumbled upon this Tamron 24-70. It has completely blown me away! The focal range is fantastic for landscapes and portraits. The images are simply beautiful.
If you are still curious about this lens, I’d recommend checking out the images it produces on Flickr.
In addition, due to the release of the G2 version the price is right!Read full review

Not recommand !
Comparing canon 24-105. I keep 24-105. Canon lens just a little sharper and build quality a little better. I prefer canon image stabilizer over tamron. The 70mm just feel a little short. It is more like 63mm. I compare with other three different zoom lens. But the only good thing is it is f2.8. If I really need f2.8 I will but the first version, which has same image quality but much lighter and cheaper. Also I prefer focus ring on the front end. Why? When you shooting video, you know what I am talking about.Read full review

High grade lens
Extremely sharp on whole zoom range. Stabilizer truly gives 4 stops. The wide end of focus range is really wide. I would prefer to have 100mm on the long end. And this lens is heavy to carry it whole day. But it's sharp and handy, and sturdy built and focusing speed is perfect. I recommend this lens.Read full review

Great Value
Among all the 24-70 mm f/2.8 lenses for Canon SLR cameras, this lens is the only one that has image stabilizer. The lens is very sharp across its whole range and wide open. Its optical quality is very close to Canon 24-70 mm f/2.8L II USM but only at 2/3 of its price. It is a great lens and an excellent value.Read full review

Great Fast Zoom lens
Lens is fast, sharp and good autofocus. I highly recommend this lens for full frame cameras!
Canon Killer
Having used a variety of Canon glass both L and non-L, I can honestly say this lens holds its own against its Canon counterpart in many ways, chiefly being 1) Price, 2) comparable sharpness, color reproduction, and chromatic abberation and 3) image stabilization (Canon does not offer). While it loses out on distortion and vignetting, if you own any decent picture editing software, those are easy to mitigate. For half the price, you really can't go wrong with this lens.Read full review

Works, but with an unlisted malfunction
The lens works as it was described and functions semi-smoothly. However, the lens I purchased is loose in the casing and causes distortion in the upper left corner of the frame. It was NOT noted on the product description. I would not have purchased had I known that the lens would move in its casing and jostle if moved too quickly. Very shady, in my opinion. Go with a Canon lens or a better seller.Read full review
