One for my special DVD collection. Awesome film!!!

I bought this DVD because I feel it is one of the best films that Bruce Willis made, I have seen it several times and I suppose it makes me realize how lucky we are in this part of the world.

What you see in this and many other DVD's of this type is the sheer suffering of the people in these parts of the world, having been to Africa many times we understand what hell they must go through!!!Read full review...

Tears of the Sun

Tears of the Sun is a ”sad face of Africa” movie, a tale of genocide. While the story line is clearly an Americanised comment on Africa’s status quo today, it cannot fail to tug at the heart strings and this could well be a documentary, for instance, of the appalling ravages perpetrated by the Sudanese on Darfur innocents. If you are shocked at the idea of babies starving to death because soldiers have slashed off their mothers’ breasts (remember, though, Leopoldville under the Belgians), then you’ve luckily been missing the news over the past few decades. There’s the classic ”I’ve had enough” tantrum from a small group of American military (in the charge of slaphead grimacing, mud-spattered Bruce Willis) who decide to ignore their superiors in a desperate attempt to save as many victims of tribal war as they can - naturally by commandeering their own Army’s latest high tech! The tear-jerking platoon casualties among the avengers are inevitable. African bullets and mortars kill, too. There’s also the inevitable climax when the heroic group shepherds its lucky flock of Africans across the border, out of range of senseless slaughter. I recommend the movie to all fortunate enough to enjoy security in our ”civilised” world. Why? Because it is American movie-making at its best - numerically inferior diehards saving unprotected women and kids from the horrors of the 21st century - and that’s what the “Greatest Nation on Earth” should be all about.Read full review...

Tears of the Sun

Bruce Willis is brilliant in his role as a Special Forces soldier on a rescue mission in Nigeria. A definite 'must see' for all Bruce fans !
