Technics SL-BD22 Stereo Audio Turntable - Black

Simple but good sound.

Although the turntable had two previous bad repairs (not mentioned in advert) and the rear tonearm cap is missing, the simplicity of the construction made it easy to get this turntable back to full working order. I fitted a new Audio Technica cartridge and stylus and balanced the tonearm with a digital scale. The front foot and suspension spring were correctly repaired. Pity supplier didn't check if it worked.

If it worked it would have been an improvement!
It arrived with the record deck not functioning. There was a broken drive belt. The supplier must have known there was a problem as part of the belt was on the outside of the mechanism

I have given two stars rather than none as I was able to get it fixed quite quickly with a Technics drive belt. The broken belt was not by Technics (different colour)

The photo shows the main part of the belt that was inside the record deck - the small piece was outside.Read full review

Well built turntable. Very easy to use. Excellent sound quality for the money but bass can be significantly enhanced by using Audio Technica AT-311EP cartridge with elliptical stylus. Also make sure you use the original plug in earth lead to ensure a clean connection. Highly recommended.Read full review
