Tecsun PL880 is GREAT
I really like the Tecsun PL800 shortwave receiver so far. It will be fun to take it along on trips and vacations where I have no opportunity to put up an antenna for or operate my ham radio.

Fair ssb coverage
I liked everything about the radio, but found that external antennas had little to no effect. Charged easily, tuned easily, great sound on FM. Nice storage case, but it doesn't hold the accessories.

Good radio, fast service
The Tecsun PL880 arrived Easter weekend to replace a broken Grundig G6. The new radio works well and without the SSB tuning bug described by others. It took me a while to get used to the memory storage allocation but I had no problems pulling in the DX with the supplied longwire antenna. Finally a replacement with performance comparable to the Sony 2010 and its much easier on battery life.
Nice sound, actually sounds like a larger radio. Course and fine tuning knobs are well thought out. SSB and CW is a breeze to tune into. Even 500 Hz selectivity available for busy CW bands. Nice radio with a cost
Excellent sound, good build quality, simple to use. Problem is, even with the included external antenna, radio stations are not clear even during prime listening conditions. Lots of interference. Note that the stations I refer to are shortwave stations. FM and local AM stations come through loud and clear. The speaker is powerful and produces a wide range of bass and treble.
