Gotta Love it
Honestly, i didnt enjoy it as much as their first album, there weren't any true skits on this one :(. That said, it was still a really good album with some great tracks. The music is a little niche but its unquestionably brilliant.Read full review...
Tenacious D In The Pick Of Destiny
I guarentee if you loved the film you will want to own the soundtrack.
I saw the film and purchased the soundtrack the next day. It is fantastic.
Jack Black and Kyle Gass are great performers and the songs are very diverse rock ballads. The best track on it in my opinion in Beelzeboss (no 13) performed
by Black, Gass and The Foo Fighters lead singer Dave Grohl. Funny lyrics and a
great comedy rock song. ICRead full review...
Bought the CD
Saw this on TV some time after seeing Jack Black in 'School of Rock' and 'Nacho Libre'. Both films appealed to my sense of humour so sat and watched this one. Enjoyed it so much but felt Id missed something so I bought it.
Essentially a modern day musical, this film tells the story of a boy who dreams of being a Heavy metal rock star. (The Americans might just use 'rock' but in England that type of music is best described as heavy Metal or Heavy Rock!). The boy runs away from home and meets a very good guitar player whom he forms a duo with. They discover that a sacred guitar pick is the key to becoming famous (and getting loads of chicks!!) so they set off to try to get it.
Pretty good music written by Jack Black and quite a few cameo appearances - Meatloaf, Ben Stiller, Ronnie James Dio among others.
Do buy this if you like Jack Black in School of Rock. Dont buy this if you like Ben Stiller/Owen Wilson type comedies as its not quite the same and will dissappoint.Read full review...
