Testor's Dullcoat - Excellent Product

I think Testor's Dullcoat is an excellent covering spray. Unlike some brands, this product never caused any of my decals or transfers to craze. and it's thin, easy to use and very quick drying. What more can I say!Read full review

Dullcote

In model building its usually desirable to get rid of shiny surfaces. These are
often noticed when it's to late to use the dullcote spray. I little brush and this
product takes care of the problem just fine. This product is needed on every
model builders workbench.

Great Stuff!

I've been using this stuff for year to flat coat my military aircraft models. Its the best, most flat, clear coat that I've found. The trick to it is to let the "flat" settle to the bottom of the jar, then dispose of the top 1/2" of carrier fluid in the (new) jar. It will make your clear coat insanely flat, which is exactly what us military modelers want! Both models in the attached pics were done using the above method. Its been discontinued, so buy it while you can!Read full review

I am so glad lacquer-based products are ...

I am so glad lacquer-based products are still available. They are so superior to water-based products.

The Good Stuff

What can I say? If you're here, you probably already know Testors Dullcote is the good stuff. Flattest finish on earth. And it probably broke your heart that they (allegedly) discontinued the rattle cans. Me too, buddy. Me too.

Despite what certain sources may tell you, for best results, I've found this should be thinned with lacquer thinner before spraying through an airbrush. But this is the good stuff. You know that. That said, if you don't like Dullcote from a rattle can, this won't change your mind.

I've never brushed it on, and probably never will, so I can't speak to that.

Tried and True

Dullcote has been around quite a while, and now I know why. Fabulous product, just be care full of the fumes, it's lacquer. But once you take care of the fumes, its a fantastic finish, hard and absolutely perfect finish. Highly recommended!Read full review

Testers dulcote

Just received the product. Will be using with an airbrush. Product in the rattle cans is always great but expensive, this should be just as good and more economical.
