It works. It helps you take control of your own health.

Given that Diabetes 2 is escalating year on year, wouldn't you have thought that by now, there would be an alternative way, a better way of preventing it in the first place? The alternative is following the 'Chemical Alley' approach of a lifetime on drugs and insulin injections? My weight loss alone speaks for itself. Highly recommended. I also have his wife's cookbook: The 8-week blood sugar diet Recipe Book, by Dr. Clare Bailey with Dr. Sarah Schenker.Read full review...

Complete waste of money. More about author than anything else

Absolute rubbish most ingredients from America as is method. Fine if you like cauliflower rice, and like mushrooms meat etc. Can afford tread mill and exercise bike and have the time to spend your days exercising, meditating, cooking and sourcing ingredients. Couldn’t find much I would eat. Have done better using Wii fit and adapting recipes I have. Complete waste of moneyRead full review...

A most informative book and great value for money ,

I bought this book as my husband is diabetic and wanted to contriol his sugar levels without taking tablets. This book is I formative in a manner that is easy to read, avoiding technical language and lots of boring facts. The balance of information and facts is good, keeps you reading and not skipping through or giving up altogether. The facts helped me formulate my own opinion, make sense of it and want to crack on with some recipes. My husbands sugar levels seem to be responding to the changes in diet we have made as well as losing a few pounds too, This is WELL WORTH TH MONEY and the read. Good luck everyone. Blood sugar diet book

I hadn't known that it was possible to reverse diabetes, and cannot say that it will work, however I am giving it a go.
The book makes sense, although trusting that full fat milk, yoghurt and cream are okay, is a leap of faith. Everyone tells you LOW FAT is better for you.
This book is really about cutting out sugars, which are even in "healthy" cereals, and cutting out carbs as much as possible.
I have literally only been on this new way of eating for 3 days, and have lost a few pounds, which I know is mostly water, he tells you that, but am hopeful of a good outcome. He also warns of negative reactions, which has also happened already!
I think it is definitely worth a read.

Just a little to sweet

This is a good informative book although does follow a predictable format. My main issue is if you actually look at the work of Professor R Taylor the aim is not to eat any sugar. Not to carry on with the controlled state nearly all doctors advocate of balanced food to medication. Surely those who seek this book have one aim. To stop eating sugar. There are many different strategies offered on how to control your diabetes* and I have tried a few until I came across the work of Professor Taylor at NewCastle Univerity* and realised combined with my own understanding of diabetes, my work with a wide range of age groups as a Counsellor that for me the <1g rule works. Something I wish to share.
I felt there needed to be a simple realistic and achievable method to cognitivly and behavourally help me and hopefully others control their diabetes in a non judgemental way. We are who we are not what we are labled.
The less than 1g< rule simply put anything with more than 1g of sugar on the label of contents is not eaten. What is 1g, three sugar lumps. Go to your cupboard take out some tins and this is what you may find. Plum Tomatoes has 13.6g of sugar per tin = 40 sugar cubes Baked Beans has 19g of sugar per tin = 57 sugar cubes and Tinned Chilli has 12g of sugar per tin = 36 sugar cubes.
I doubt anyone would put 40g of sugar in a bowl and eat it.

At last an answer

Having been diabetic for 8 years I have struggled to control Blood Sugar and since being on insulin due to tablets making me ill, I have been unable to lose weight. This book was a revelation and I am so angry that Health Care workers who are supposed to be helping diabetics don't know about this. I have been doing this for 2 weeks and my Blood Sugar has reduced and so has my insulin plus the best bonus of all I have lost 12lb in weight. I read the book from cover to cover and I am not strictly on the amount of calories I have but I know others who this has worked for and it was recommended to me. My advice give it a go if it works for you then you can shout about it and if not all you have lost is the cost of the book. However, it is based on sound medical research by a British Professor.Read full review...

I strongly recommend.

This healthy diet really does work. It is nutritious, tasty and varied. I wasn't able to get into the doctors to get my blood sugar done but had symptoms of diabetes which have gone in a week, as have three inches off my waist.
One of the things that recommended me to the book is that it is science led and compiled by a qualified doctor who we have seen on the TV over the years.
The only downsides are that, once back at work, it takes a lot of effort to maintain and that each recipe uses different ingredients. As I'm single, this means a lot of opened pots going to waste.
This won't be a problem once I go onto the maintenance part.
As well as helping with my weight, this has reconnected me to my love of food and cooking.
