This is a brilliant movie. A truly manipulative mother - who always gets her way - and its always at the expense of her poor family.

A deliciously black comedy - this movie was well ahead of its time. Bette Davis is brilliant as the mother - and the insults just come rolling off her tongue so smoothly - you think for a split second that she's paying a compliment!
