Brilliant Adaptation of the Bible

An excellent, straight telling of the first half of the book of Genesis. A stella cast, imaginative adaptations and excellent dialogue. I would recommend this to anyone who loves the Bible.

Fantastic classic - Creation of eart through to abraham

This dvd keeps stopping and starting, i wasn't very happy with this purchase.But it still works and i like it,i love anything to do with the bible.

The Bible...in the beginning

Having seen the film on T.V. recently I felt I wanted to see it in its original widescreen format. I was not disappointed. In the pre-digital age the location shots are very impressive, wide vistas, atmospheric, a real sense of place. This is real location filming, not some backlot of a film studio. The acting is fine and John Huston's Noah and his direction is excellent, who said never work with children and animals? Huston manages to bring out the best from the animals and the children, notice the asses, elephants, chimps, and they did a good job of 'blending in'(sic) the dangerous animals. Notice even the new-born babies (or baby) who play Isaac and Ishmael play, they seemed to understand what was required of them. The script is excellent, literate and quite accurate and highlights the fundamental truth from the garden of Eden sequence to the final offering of Isaac, that obedience to God is vital. What can one say of the music, it's practically non-stop throughout the movie, and is excellent, an Academy Award nominee.
This was a film, if there ever was one, that truly deserved a sequel (or two or three) but unfortunately, although there where some plans, it never came about.Read full review...

Lovely

I bought this product for my kids, and it has been of great use to them. They can tell the bible stories after watching the DVD. I will recommend to other parents to get for their kids.
