Just Gets Better and Better

I was a latecomer to The BBT having only seen the occasional episode on TV at friends houses and, at that point, I didn't really get some of the context of the humour.

On a whim about 4 months ago I bought a box set of seasons 1-7 and started from the beginning - subsequently buying the latest series.

To say I was hooked is an understatement. I don't think I have ever encountered a series that is so well written, intelligent, funny with brilliant characters and a perfect balance of fun, wit, consistently varied and interesting stories, engaging characters and sheer originality.

This season is superb. Brilliant. Funny and I never want it to end.

What more can I say?

My favourite ever comedy.

What went wrong with series nine?

Series one to eight were excellent, well put together, with very clever humour. Series nine is such a let down, very weak story lines and poor humour, I cannot believe how bad it is. The characters are failing to bond, perhaps they are all looking at the end and towards their new jobs, I really don't know! I would be very surprised if the final series ten will be any better. Unfortunately programmes are remembered for how bad they are, not how good they were. Anyway, there are a few small laughs in some of the episodes, but I do mean a few. If you are determined to watch this then borrow it from a friend, save your money or treat yourself to something else off eBay instead!Read full review
