Stephenie Meyer surprises once again!
I bought this book on a recommendation from a friend, since she knew that I adored Stephenie Meyer’s other single adult novel, The Host. From page one I was hooked. This protagonist is very different from the other protagonists that she has written over the years. She’s tough, intelligent, and resilient, sent to work on a terrifyingly realistic case. Her antagonist is believable and not without positive personality traits - and it’s easy to see why the conflict is so intense in this novel. Stephenie Meyer has grown as an author, and nothing shows more proof of that than this novel. I wasn’t a huge fan of the Twilight saga - I’ll never pretend that I was - but over the years, Stephenie Meyer has proved herself as a writer twice in a row. I definitely recommend this book for anyone who loves action thriller stories.
