Understanding your mind

If you want to manage your mind then look no further than this book. The author explains how this can be done in a simple and clear way by identifying the components of the brain and how they work together.

The star of the show for me is the Chimp and I am delighted to have met him. I now see his role in my brain and am already working with him.

Highly recommended read.

Interesting

I was looking forward to read this book but didn't find it as useful as expected. Some chapters are better than others with good points but overall it didn't change my life as stated in some reviews. Worth buying. An interesting book written by a psychologist. Read full review...

Very helpful, easy to read and dip into when needed

I'm finding this book so helpful in coping with my broken marriage - understanding both mine and my husband's point of view! I've also given it to my teenage daughter as I think it will help with friendships and dealing with exams and school coursework. It's also helping me focus on my goals and not getting so stressed with things! I've recommended it to several friends.Read full review...

Suddenly the world makes sense! Life changing!

Life changing book that everyone must read. I read it cover to cover in one weekend. Will use it as a reference book for years to come.

It is so easy to read and understand. I changed just a few things in the way I walked into a room and grumpy people at work who have never ever spoken to me suddenly were saying hi!

Caught myself about to react to situations and was able to stop and implement the book’s advice to make the situation have a completely different outcome!!

Amazing!!!!

Chunky, practical book with good illustrations and advice. Yes, great material and very well-presented in a friendly and positive manner.

Profound. Very real. Astonishingly important and relevant writing. Essentially the book talks about the importance of mind management and a number of ways in which this can be achieved. Some of the book (in effect all of the book) is about the way our brains actually function - quite outside whatever norms of outlook we might ordinarily have or have been handed down to us or supposedly correct in popular culture. The book is about reality as supported by evidence of brain function observed in brain scanner. It will challenge you, do not expect an easy read. Much of the content is in suitably low-speak, there are few occasions where once needs above average intelligence to understand what is being said (though the higher the intelligence once might say the greater one might value it or link it to comparable/contrastable ideas/apply differently or with more subtlety)
Monumentally important. It is hard to overestimate the quality of the content.

Helps put the puzzle together

Read a few 'self help' books and this one has helped tie together a lot of the principles of other books. So a great addition to help you mental wellness of at least understand what's happening in your head.Read full review...
