Exciting, humorous, beautiful scenery, great score
A classic western. One of my favorite John Wayne movies, despite the fact they were shooting guns that not been invented yet. Magnificent music score. One of the few movies I went to see with my father when I was a kid. Very sentimental about it. Read full review

Standard late Wayne, which he continued to the end of his life, with the exception of the Shootist. Much better in the forties and through the Searchers in 1956. He was already ossified when he made Rio Bravo, in 1959.
