Several years ago I saw on A.B.C. T/V a program titled "Aint Misbehavin". It was a tribute to Fats Waller, an American bandleader and pianist. The cast consisted of 2 males and 3 females, all Afro Americans and brilliant performers. Some time later the same show appeared at a theatre in Perth but with a different cast, my wife and I attended a performance of this and I was very dissappointed as it was considerably below standard compared to the A.B.C. Show. I managed to obtain from a friend a video tape of the A.B.C. program, this tape was of poor quality so my copy was slightly worse and unfortunately about 15 minutes was erased in error. My daughter bought me a C.D. with the sound track but of course this was not as good as seeing the actual show. On April 30th 2006 for no particular reason I decided to switch to English Ebay and almost the first thing I saw was "Aint Misbehavin". I managed to win this auction and altogether it cost about $12.50 including postage. The person selling this told me that years before he had purchased from a T/V company for a very low fee, lots of BETA tapes and due to the advancement in technology was now able to get them transfered to DVD. I get so sick and tired of the crummy, and third rate comedians, or. so called comedians, (let's face it. the only comedians we have at the moment are the politicians!)!! (not that THEY give us anything to laugh or smile about)that it was just by chance, I thought that I might find something like The Comedians on ebay, there it was, loads of them!!Take my tip. if you want to go down memory lane, and listen to REALLY FUNNY men, telling , fast one liners. this is for you,The modern kids wont like it of course,but who cares about that, this programme was made for people to laugh at and enjoy.modern kids can do neither.You can't beat a good Northern working mens club, comic.The jokes are miles out date, and that is what I think makes them all the more funnier."They best ones are the old ones," they say, how true.
No doubt some people wont agree with my review, but, there again, this is MY review.
Buy it,try it. settle down in your nice, comfy,easy chair, with a beer, and a packet of crisps, relax, laugh and enjoy.
I'm going to play it later, about 10ish, so I go can to bed with a smile on my face,

The Comedians - The Best Of The Comedians (DVD)

This DVD shows snippets of the time when Comedians were Comedians. Some of the material is just too daft for words (in the nicest possible way) and incredibly FUNNY!!! It is a total reminder that you don't need to be filthy to be funny - it's just plain honest good fun. I only wish though that Mike Reid had been included in the selection.
