Too many words not to do with India.

I expected this book to be about India and its linguistic relationship with Britain. In some parts that is what it is. For lots of other parts it is the history and use of random words Manu of which have no bearing on India at all, ostrich for example. There are numerous words in it relating to Africa and other places nothing at all to do with India. I was quite disappointed. Having said that, who am I to talk when the book has never been out of print since the 1870s. Somebody must be buying it and enjoying it.Read full review

Perfecto

What an apt book for these days - everything a bit Hobson-Jobson. J
